Regardless of whether you pray in the morning or at night, your objective should be to pray purposefully, diligently, and correctly. You can read all the books and watch all the videos you want on prayer, but if you don't pray with understanding and expect to receive full manifestation, guess what? You'll never receive the desired result.

I don't know about you, but there was a time when I would pray and wonder whether or not God heard me. I would ask myself, "Am I wasting time? Did I cover everything?" One thing is for sure, if you lack confidence in your prayers, you won't have peace of mind, and your prayers will go unanswered.

Child of God, once you get a biblical understanding of what prayer is and the power it produces, you can pray with confidence knowing that you'll get results every time!

Make Prayer Work
At World Changers Ministries, we believe in the practical teaching of God's Word. Our ministry motto is "in all your getting, get understanding" (Prov. 4:7, NKJV). It's not enough for me to tell you that prayer is vital to your spiritual growth. You have to understand how to make prayer work for you by learning to apply the steps that are guaranteed to produce a successful harvest.

Pray the Word
The Bible contains the solution to every challenge. Whether it's a financial dilemma or a health issue, the Word of God contains your answer. The Lord doesn't need you to remind Him of your circumstances. He already knows about them. In fact, He knew about them before you did. That's why He gave you His Word - the solution handbook - to help you overcome all obstacles. How do I know? Because God said His Word will always accomplish His purpose (Isa. 55:11).

Instead of dwelling on the problem and spending most of your time telling God what's not going right in your life, search the Scripture and pray the solution He's already provided. For example: If you're suffering from a sickness, don't confess that you're sick by saying, "I'm sick." Instead, confess your healing by saying to yourself and others, "According to Isaiah 53:5, by His stripes I am healed."

When speaking directly to God, make it personal by praying, "Lord, Your Word says, 'Christ was wounded for my transgressions, he was bruised for my iniquities: the chastisement of my peace was upon him; and with his stripes, I am healed.' Therefore I believe I've received my healing in Jesus' Name!"

Remember to always pray the solution. You must communicate to God what He has already communicated to you, fully assured that your prayers will have results.

Apply Faith Pressure
Many Christians are involved in what I call "bullfrog praying." They start praying with faith and confidence, then leap onto a lily pad of doubt and unbelief when obstacles appear. In other words, they speak words of doubt that shut down the production of the things their faith began to construct. Instead of applying faith pressure to their circumstances, they lose heart and allow problems to pressure them into giving up.

Hebrews 10:23 tells us to "hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised." The word "profess" simply means "to confess." Let me say it this way, your profession is your confession. It's your job to make the things you desire come to pass. Therefore the profession of your faith begins when you confess the Word of God over what you have prayed.

Don't speak words of doubt and unbelief. Confess the Word. Hold fast and stay rooted in what the Father has spoken to you. When you diligently seek the Lord and continue confessing words of faith over your life, He will reward your efforts.

Don't Accept Doubt and Fear
One of Satan's greatest weapons is suggestion. Whether it's through a dream, your words, or words spoken by others, he will always try to suggest an idea that's contrary to God's Word. Just as he did in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, his objective is to make you doubt or think twice about what the Lord has promised. The devil's ultimate goal is to control your thought life and keep you off track.

But, praise God, the Lord has given us the authority over all of the enemy's schemes. Ephesians 6:11 encourages us to wear the armor of God, which is His Word, so that we can stand against the devil's cunning devices.

Furthermore, your words have the power to produce life or pronounce death. The Bible says, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Cor. 10:5). When you're gripped with fearful and doubtful thoughts, cast them down by speaking the Word of God.

Reject Failure
Begin to develop an inner image of what you want. This is one of the most important steps to successful prayer. It's like seeing the blueprint of a building before it's constructed. This process increases your faith because it involves mentally visualizing the results of your prayers before you actually see them manifest. How? By visualizing the results of your prayers as you spend time reading the Bible and speaking the promises of God.

What you speak and visualize determines your success or failure in prayer. If you visualize defeat, then defeat is inevitable. On the other hand, if you see yourself possessing the results of your prayers, you will have success.

As a child of God, you have a covenant right to receive His blessings. See yourself possessing the things for which you've been praying. For example, if you're believing God for a new house, then speak His Word and visualize yourself living in that house. Possessing what you want begins with your confession. Psalm 107:2 says, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy." You are the redeemed of the Lord, and whatever you say is so.

Testify What You Believe
Confess that you believe and you will receive the results of what you pray. In fact, Jesus encouraged us to pray and believe that we have already received the answer before we actually see manifestation. He said, "Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24).

Because of Jesus' blood, the Body of Christ has a right to overcome sickness, poverty and any other wicked devices used against us. Testifying about what we believe should happen before we see the results. Testifying beforehand is a declaration of our faith, and it confirms what is taking place in the spirit realm.

Only when we testify according to the Word of God can we overcome the devil. You don't have to be ashamed to testify about what you believe. His promises are your assurance, and the blood of Jesus is your guarantee.

Be a Blessing
According to Galatians 3:29, we are Abraham's seed and heirs of the covenant established by God. This covenant assures us that we have been blessed to be a blessing to others, until all families of the earth have been blessed.

One of the quickest ways to get your prayers answered is by helping to meet someone else's need. Investing in the vision of others motivates God to invest in your vision. He wants to help you profit. What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you. Therefore don't wait for someone to pour the waters of blessings into your cup. Choose to be the one with the pitcher in hand, pouring out a blessing.

Your obedience and willingness to help meet someone else's need may be the very key to getting them saved. Most unsaved people won't initially be drawn by what is preached to them from Scripture. They are more likely, however, to respond to the love of Christ that you show. Although you may have mountain-moving faith when you pray, if your love walk isn't perfected, then your faith won't be activated. And since the Word of God says faith works by love (Gal. 5:6), get involved in sharing the love of Christ, and see the power of God work on your behalf.

Give and You Will Receive
Focus on becoming a giver. All too often, Christians seek the Lord's hand and not His heart. They have a "give me" mentality. There's nothing wrong with wanting to receive the abundance of blessings God has in store for you. The problem occurs when your prayers are self-centered. James 5:16 says, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed."

If you want to see the results of your prayers, don't just pray for others, bless them with something tangible. Jesus said that you can determine the measure of what is returned to you regardless of what you give - money, clothes, etc.- as long as the Spirit of God leads you, you are guaranteed to be blessed in return.

If you're determined to see the manifestation of what you pray, begin to follow these steps. They will bring results. With confidence, make your confession of faith every day: "I declare that I will have results in my prayer life. Whenever I pray by faith, I will receive whatever I've prayed. From this moment, I will not remain average. I will have extraordinary results. Because I am connected to Christ Jesus, I am anointed and I am an overcomer. In Jesus' Name. Amen!"
