Have you ever experienced a lack of self-confidence, uncertainty, or instability? Have you ever been so upset that you thought you might drown in a pool of anxiety? This is how the word insecurity is defined. It leaves us feeling unsafe, threatened, and apprehensive. But God's Word and His will for you and me is to walk in victory over insecurity.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
(Gal. 5:1)
God wants us to be secure and confident in Him, having no fear of failure. We know that the chief author of insecurity is the devil, but the Word lets us know that we can walk in victory over insecurity by God's grace and become all that He has called us to be.

I looked up the word secure to determine exactly what it meant. Of course, secure is just the opposite of insecure.

Secure is described as:
free from danger, harm, or risk of loss. Free from fear, anxiety, or doubt; confident; not likely to fail or give way; stable, assured, certain; guarded from danger, harm of risk of loss; so strong or well made as to render loss, escape or failure impossible!
That sounds like boldness to me!

The world teaches us to have confidence, and we need to be confident. But our confidence should be in who God made us to be. Real confidence and trust has to be in God and not ourselves because we can't always help ourselves.

We are often told that we can trust only ourselves, but have you ever failed yourself? Are you able to heal your sick body? Can you deliver yourself from fear? Only God can do these things, so our trust must be in Him.
