"Give me also springs of water..." (Judg. 1:15).

One of the right things we are to put into our bodies is water. Without it our system will not work as it was designed to function. What did God put on earth for us to drink? Water. What do human beings need for their bodies to function properly? Water. How many calories does water have? None.

Isn't it amazing that God had all that figured out? Our trouble is, we take the basic ingredient He provided and mix into it all kinds of herbs and chemicals and sugar and then wonder why we don't feel good or why we gain weight.

Most health experts agree that the human body needs eight glasses of water a day. Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize stored fat. Oddly enough, drinking plenty of water is the best treatment for fluid retention. So those of us who have trouble because our bodies hold water need to drink more water, not less.

Water helps to maintain proper muscle tone. It helps rid the body of waste and other impurities. All these facts are good reasons for drinking lots of water, which is so essential to the proper functioning of the human body.

Some people claim they do not like water or have an intolerance to it. But I believe if God put it here for our use and made our bodies so dependent upon it, He must have had a good reason for doing so. We need to quit making excuses and start doing what He has showed us to be His way of maintaining proper weight and good health.

When I am on the road ministering, I usually carry two things with me: a gold water bottle holder and a silver one! I got them to match my outfits. I have learned that it is possible to be both fashionable and healthy. I get a lot of comments about my water bottle holders. Many people say, "That's a good idea!"

I have been teased about going into the "Life in the Word Water Bottle Business" - because I know how important water is to good health. I have found it helps wash toxins out of the body, improves bladder and bowel function, curbs appetite, and so much more.

I have also discovered that the only way I can be sure of having enough water to drink is by taking it along with me wherever I go. In addition, I have discovered that room temperature water is easier to drink than ice cold water, so I can drink more of it.

Buy a water jug and keep it in the car. Buy a smaller bottle to carry in your purse or on your belt when you go places like shopping or walking. Go to the extreme of carrying drinking water with you wherever you go.
