"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed" (1 Peter 2:24 KJV)

It is vital that we pay close attention to exactly what the Word says. Therefore we must read it daily so that we know for ourselves what God has already provided for us.

Where your healing is concerned, we can see that God said you were already healed with the stripes Jesus took on His back. Knowing that your healing is already provided will cause you to walk in divine health for the rest of your days.

I remember when I first came out of Bible school, I ministered at a particular denominational church one Sunday morning. I was teaching on healing, and quoted 1 Peter 2:24. I said, "By whose stripes you were healed."

The congregation shouted back to me "are healed!". I said "were!" They responded, "are!"

I said, "All right smarty-pants. Turn in your Bible to I Peter 2:24." I said, "Now read it out loud."

They started reading. "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye..." And there was dead silence.

I said, "I don't hear you." And they said quietly, "were." I said, "I don't here you." They said "were healed."

You see, the word "were" is extremely important. It means that God has called you healed. You are not going to be healed one day. You are healed now. You might be sitting there with a lump in your body right now that the doctor said may be cancerous. I want you to know that God said you were healed. And it is important to believe God's Word.

What you believe will determine what happens to the lump. If you believe what the doctor says, then you will probably have the doctor's result. But, thank God, if you believe the Word of God, the lump disappears and you walk in health.

Knowing what God's Word said about your healing, you must then operate in the faith of God.

We find in Romans 4:17 that God called those things that be not as though they were. So now you must call those things that be not as though they were.

Don't call it what it is. Call your body healed. And as the scripture says, you shall have whatever you say (Mark 11:24).
