God has targeted His power at man’s deepest needs—spirit, soul, and body. God knows the root of your problems, and He has effectually focused His power there.
The Gospel of Christ is the power of God. God has released you by His power working in Christ in your behalf. The prison door is open! No filing no sneaking—no running—no swamps —no dogs. It is not your effort. It is God’s gift to every man in Christ, in Him.

Christ “hath” redeemed you. You can walk out of your bondage into glorious liberty. You are legally released! Hold your head up high and boldly walk out in Jesus’ name!

You Are Redeemed
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree.
(Gal. 3:13)

The law put a curse on us. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with you, Christ put himself under that curse…
(Deaf)

Christ is was who redeemed us from the curse of the law, by receiving our curse on his own person.
(Hayman)

Christ has purchased our freedom.
(Weymouth)
There are three simple, yet powerful statements made in Galatians 3:13. Let’s take a closer look. The first fact is that you are redeemed. The second is what you are redeemed from the curse of the law. The third is what you were redeemed by, Christ was made a curse for you. In other words, Christ took your curse so you could go free.

Jesus paid much too high a price for your freedom for you to stay bound. It is and insult to God for you to stay in prison when Jesus paid the price for your release. Satan cannot hold you. Sin cannot hold you. The past cannot hold you. Back to our fact: you are redeemed!

Next, Paul tells you what you are redeemed from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13). It is true that you will one day go to heaven, and that will be a great day. However, someone said, “I don’t just need help in the sweet-by-and-by; I need help in the nasty now-and-now.”

The curse of the law is broken today for any man or woman who is in Christ. The center of Gospel is what God has done for you in Christ. Christ hath redeemed you, not for just when you get to heaven. The curse of the law has been broken, not for just a few select individuals – for “whosoever” will hear and believe in the Gospel.

Jesus demonstrated this Gospel by healing the sick and setting the captives free in this world. This same Gospel produced the same results in the book of Acts. Romans 10:17 says, “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Paul preached the Gospel, and the crippled man at Lystra received faith to be healed as he heard the message (Acts 14:7). Paul said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on thy feet.” The man leaped and walked. The people thought Paul healed the man, but it was simply the demonstration of the power of the Gospel.

To see what the curse of the law is you need to turn to Deuteronomy 28:15-68. This list includes everything from sickness and poverty to disaster in the family and the nation. The curse includes everywhere you go, everything you do, and everybody you are with. Under the curse you are a traveling, contagious disaster spiritually, mentally, and physically. But Christ hath redeemed you from that curse. He paid the price for your freedom. Even now the curse is broken.

You can see the reverse of the curse by reading Deuteronomy 28:1-13. All these blessings in the city, field, family, body, business, and you are “the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath.”

The Gospel is the Good News
Christ hath redeemed you, The Gospel is the good news that man has been given eternal life through Jesus Christ. That life is the very life of God imparted to His children. It is overcoming life—reigning life—victorious life—blessing life—healing life—not just for when you get to heaven. It is heaven’s life flowing in you in this world.

The Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). Someone said that if you think you need more power, you really just need more Gospel! The Gospel is the power of God. The word “gospel” means glad tidings or good news. The Gospel is where God has released His power for the purpose of producing salvation.

God has targeted His power at man’s deepest needs—spirit, soul, and body. God knows the root of your problems, and He has effectually focused His power there. Everything Satan has done in Adam, God has reversed in Christ!

The word “salvation” has a five-fold meaning: deliverance, healing, safety, preservation, and soundness. This is not just a “heaven” message; it is an “earth” message as well. It is not just something for later; this is a NOW message!

We Have Redemption in Christ:
In whom we have redemption through His blood even the forgiveness of sins.
(Col. 1:14)

…who bought our freedom with His own blood.
(Living Bible)

… by whom we have been ransomed from captivity.
(Goodspeed)

In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
(Eph. 1:7)

It is in and through Christ and the sacrifice of His life that we have been liberated…
(Barclay)

…through the shedding of His blood we possess freedom in Him…
(Barth)

For it was by this one’s supreme sacrifice that we got our ‘emancipation’…
(Jordan)

…who bought us with His blood to forgive our sins and set us free.
(Beck)
Summary Points:
•    The Gospel is the good news that man has been given eternal life through Jesus Christ.
•    It is an insult to God for you to stay in prison when Jesus paid the price for your release.
•    Only the blood of Jesus was legal payment for your freedom.
