Faith Has An Attitude
Fear and self pity are major negative factors when sickness and disease are present, but they can be displaced with faith and confidence. Some may enjoy the attention they get when they’re sick or may have just given up on being well, deciding there’s no hope.

You have to make a decision that you really want to be healed! Jesus asked the crippled man by the pool of Bethesda in John 5:6 in the Amplified, “Do you want to become well? [Are you really in earnest about getting well?]”

This man had given up on getting into the healing waters and had a very negative attitude, even feeling sorry for himself. Jesus didn’t pamper the man, but commanded him to act in faith and to get up. Here was the Healer Himself standing in front of him. The man had a quick change of attitude and got up, healed.

In Luke 13, there was a woman who was bowed over and couldn’t stand up straight. Jesus commanded her to be loosed from a spirit of infirmity. She wasn’t demon possessed, but that demon had attached it self to her body. The moment Jesus commanded the spirit of infirmity to go, her body was released and the woman stood up straight.

He spoke with boldness and authority and demons recognized it! Not all sickness is caused by a demon, but in this case it was. Remember there was no sickness, disease, or dysfunction of any kind until Adam sinned. Jesus came on the scene and demonstrated how believers can use their authority and release the anointing to heal.

It is the thief who has come to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give abundant life.

Fear and self pity are major negative factors when sickness and disease are present, but they can be displaced with faith and confidence.

Faith Has A Boldness

Faith has and attitude of boldness and because of the Word, I was getting that attitude! One night when awakened by an asthma attack, a “holy anger” against it arose in my heart. I’d had enough! I heard the Holy Spirit on the inside prompt me to resist the spirit of infirmity out loud and command it to go!

James 4:7 says, “...resist the devil and he will flee from you!” First Peter 5:9 says to resist him steadfast in the faith. I was acting on Mark 11:22-23, speaking TO the mountain of sickness.

The Holy Spirit showed me this was a spirit of infirmity and now I had boldness to take a stand against it. I shouted, “I resist you, spirit of infirmity! Get out of my body in the name of Jesus!” I began to praise and worship God with all my heart. That night my heath began to improve until asthma became only a memory of the past. Praise the Lord!

Through meditation on the Word concerning healing, my life was revolutionized. It gave me a strong conviction that healing was God’s will. I became like the wise man who built his house on the rock. When the storm came, his house stood firm.

Being grounded upon this “rock” of healing held me through a dreadful storm soon to come of being attacked by a brain tumor. Some people are like the man who had hole in his roof and didn’t see the need to fix it because it wasn’t raining.

When it did begin to rain, it was too late; he waited too long and couldn’t fix it. Don’t wait until you need healing to get grounded in faith for healing. Instead, build your faith up so that when an evil day comes, you will stand, and keep standing (Eph. 6:13). He Sent His Word to Heal You. Glory to God!
