The Body of Christ is coming into the knowledge of all that salvation affords us like never before. I remember when the sum total of our salvation was fire insurance. In other words, Jesus died so we wouldn't go to hell. That was all we knew so that was all we could receive.

Then God raised up men and women to proclaim that faith can move mountains (Matt. 17:20). Television helped us to see spectacular manifestations of the Holy Spirit through the gift of tongues, healing, and prophecy.

God appointed apostles, prophets, and teachers to inform His people of their covenant so we could receive it and walk in it. Now we know that Jesus was made to be sin so that we could become righteous (2 Cor. 5:21) and He was made poor so that we could become rich (2 Cor. 8:9).

Receive Christ, Receive Wisdom
As part of that wealth, there is something else the blood of Jesus purchased for us: wisdom. "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption" (1 Cor. 1:30).

When you receive Jesus as your Savior, you receive wisdom. Webster's dictionary defines wisdom as "insight or a good sense of judgment." To be wise also means "to possess inside information."

Psalm 111:10 says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: his praise endureth for ever." In other words, reverence for God is the beginning of wisdom. And we obey God's Word because we reverence Him. We honor Him and He in turn honors us.

According to Daniel chapter 1, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and Daniel were skillful in wisdom. King Nebuchadnezzar tested their wisdom when he decreed that everyone would bow and worship a golden image or be cast into a fiery furnace (Dan. 3). But they didn't compromise in their obedience to God.

You see, they had wisdom—inside information. They understood God's faithfulness and His ability to deliver them. Therefore, they honored God and He honored them.

Daniel's wisdom was also tested when King Darius decreed that anyone who prayed to any other god or man except himself within 30 days would be cast into the lions' den. When Daniel was convicted of the crime, he went into the lions' den with wisdom and came out unharmed.

King Darius was so confounded that he issued another ordinance: "I make a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end" (Dan. 6:26).

Once again God was faithful to uphold those who trusted in Him.

We Need To Walk In Our Inheritance
Child of God, you have to use wisdom to receive God's bountiful blessings. He promised to be the great "I Am" in your life, but Satan will present challenges. The devil's not going to step back and let you walk in your inheritance with ease. He will do anything to keep you from experiencing victory. He wants you to think that obedience to God's Word is a waste of time. But don't listen to his lies.

Our God is faithful, loving, and awesome. And He is more than able to manifest every promise. You possess the wisdom of God—the inside information—and in the end you win! Romans 8:37 says, "...In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

Therefore, regardless of your situation, establish yourself in the Word. Make a quality decision to receive all of the benefits of salvation. And don't settle for less than everything God has for you.

"For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow..." (Deut. 15:6). When there is a need in your life, don't surrender to a lifestyle of borrowing and paying interest. That's not exercising wisdom. Let the devil know that you refuse to bow to the world's system of debt. Go to the Father, remind Him of what He promised in His Word concerning the borrower and the lender (Deut. 28:12), and believe for His provision.

If sickness has attacked your body, don't accept the doctor's report as the final authority. That's not exercising wisdom. Child of God, 1 Peter 2:24 says by the stripes of Jesus we were healed. That means it's already done. Your healing is guaranteed. So instead of cowering to that illness, stand on the Word and expect God Almighty to move sickness and its symptoms out of your body.

Don't Short-Circuit God's Plan
As a child of the Most High God, the wisdom you possess was inherited. And since the wisdom of God is His Word, trust the Word to direct you in every area of your life.

No matter what you face, rest assured that you will come out on top. Second Corinthians 2:14 says, "Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savior of his knowledge by us in every place." Glory to God!

Don't short change yourself by settling for less than what God has promised in His Word. Don't short-circuit God's plan of victory in your life. Know that God has innumerable ways to prosper you and He is faithful.

The Bible says, "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass" (Psalm 37:5).

Your situation may be difficult right now, but hold on. You may be a little tired, but don't give up. God will come through for you. Just hold on to His wisdom—His Word—and don't compromise.
