The best way to answer your question is by understanding the devil's goal and knowing he'll do anything to obtain this goal.
This Scripture reveals the devil's intent. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (destroy) (1 Peter 5:8).
The devil's goal is to destroy people - their lives, relationships, bodies, minds, etc. This is why Jesus made this comment, "The thief (devil) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10).
The devil wants to steal from mankind, kill mankind, and destroy mankind. Jesus died on the cross to deliver us from the dominion of the devil (Col. 1:13, 2:15; Heb. 2:14). Christians don't have to worry about the devil.
Notice 1 Peter 5:8 declares that the devil is looking for someone to destroy. That would imply that the devil couldn't destroy just anyone. The devil can only destroy unbelievers and Christians that don't know they have authority over him.
This is why the Bible further teaches, "Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings" (1 Peter 5:9)
The devil is looking for someone to destroy. The Christian shouldn't worry about the devil. He or she should take authority over him while standing steadfastly in faith.
