"It was a coincidence!" That's what the world says it was when Baby Moses floated down by Pharaoh's house where his daughter was bathing. Just a coincidence!

But there are no coincidences to the child of God. The Lord is in control. There are no chances. God isn't going to turn you or your children over to chance.

Now, there are those who would say Pharaoh's daughter just happened to be out in the river bathing when Moses' little basket floated by. Then- as they say—just by chance, at that very moment, Moses got hungry and let out a cry!

But do you see how God was working out His plan? Moses' cries got the attention of Pharaoh's daughter. When she saw that baby, she fell in love with him. Everyone loves a baby, regardless of its color—red, yellow, brown, black or white. A baby is a baby.

Pharaoh's daughter picked up little Moses and took him right inside the house to the very man who wanted him dead! See how God works? Now, we wouldn't have done that, but God was handling the situation.

Pharaoh wanted all the Hebrew baby boys killed, but God said: "I'll fix Pharaoh! He wants to kill this Hebrew baby, but I'll have him raise this child. I'll have him buy the milk and supply all the clothing this baby needs. Moses will be raised right in Pharaoh's house, right under his nose!"

You see, when you let God take the responsibility for your kids, He might not do things the way you would—but He will do them better! It takes a lot of faith to keep to trusting God when it looks like things are going in the opposite direction. And it takes a lot of faith to raise your kids God's way in today's world.

Pharaoh's daughter knew nothing about raising a baby, so she started looking around for help. And who do you suppose was waiting in the wings? Moses' mother! Another "coincidence." So Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages (Ex. 2:9).

Now picture Moses' mother thinking something like this: "Thank You, God, for taking care of my baby! I could never provide for him the way You are!"

This is a God Who knows how to take care of everything you commit into His hands -and He will bless you while He's doing it!
While all the other Hebrew mothers lost their baby boys, Moses' mother was able to take care of him—and Pharaoh was paying her to do it! She was given the opportunity not only to raise her son but also to teach him about God.

First, she gave him to God; then God gave him back to her, so she could teach him during the most important formative years of his life. That's the kind of God we serve!

Making a Difference in Your Child's Life
Moses grew up with the best of everything. He grew up in Pharaoh's house as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He went to the finest schools and wore the finest clothes. He had everything he wanted—and then some. As far as the world was concerned, Moses had it made!

It would have been so easy for him to turn his back on his family and his people. After all, they were only slaves. Who could blame him for choosing the rich, easy life as Pharaoh's grandson?

But those early years of teaching and training by his mother stuck with him. He had his parents' faith in him, and when it came time for him to choose, he chose God.
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
(Heb. 11:24-26)
Never underestimate your influence as a parent. You play the central role in the development of your kids, and you can make a difference in their lives.

Sure, drugs and sex and perversion are everywhere.

Sure, peer pressure is a strong force against Christian values and morals.

But the Bible says, "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

You can affect the lives of your children for Jesus Christ. You can teach and train them so that when it comes time for them to choose for themselves, they will choose God.
