It is by grace you are saved; through faith (Eph. 2:8). The word "saved" here means, "made whole, nothing lacking or missing."
How many times have you opened the Word of God and thought to yourself, "I have read this passage; it's not that interesting," or, "I need something new that will give me answers"?

Most of us have at one time or another. What I would like you to see is that God's Word is spiritually dimensioned and holds a greater dimension of grace for you to receive. Let's look at just a couple of passages to bring light to this subject.

Second Peter 3:18 says, "But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen."

Notice that it says first of all to grow in this grace, and next it says to grow in the knowledge of our Lord. The word "knowledge" here means as follows:
  1. Knowledge, signified in general intelligence or understanding;
  2. The general knowledge of Christian religion;
  3. The deeper, more perfect and enlarged knowledge of this religion, such as belongs to the more advanced in the faith.
You see, this is saying that there is a knowledge that will advance you. This is usually what we are looking for in the scriptures, but many times think that it comes from something new instead of a greater dimension in the truth that we already know.

If you will look again at the passage, you will see it first says to grow in grace. Lets look at another passage in scripture, 2 Peter 1:2: "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord...."

The word "knowledge" here means something different:
  1. Precise and correct knowledge;
  2. Used in the knowledge of things ethical and divine.
Here it means correct knowledge. So we must first make sure we understand the correct knowledge of the scripture and then look for the advanced knowledge of it.

The deep meaning of the Word of God to us will be the dimension of its use to us. Let's look at a passage of scripture that reveals God has dimensions.

Ephesians 3:19 says, "And to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God."

This word "passeth" means: "exceed, excel, pass; to surpass in throwing; to throw over or beyond any thing."

This reveals that God is going to pass on this knowledge. Now let's tie another scripture in with this.

Ephesians 3:17-18 states, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height...."

Breadth, length, depth, and height reveal dimension! God is passing the dimensions of His grace to us through his correct and advanced knowledge. You may think that is wonderful, but what does it mean to me as a Christian?

Simply this: it is by grace you are saved; through faith (Eph. 2:8). The word "saved" here means, "made whole, nothing lacking or missing."

Many times we think it is faith we need, when in reality it is a greater understanding of grace. Grace works through faith, not because of it, but rather up through it into our circumstances. The greater the knowledge of what Christ has done, the greater the experience of God's love toward us.

This is how the Word works with greater dimension and force.

So look back at what you already know and check its correctness. Examine it for advancement in the things you need from God and your faith will work in a greater dimension of grace.
