"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust" (2 Peter 1:4).

Satan tries to deceive us and cause us to think that the desires that come up on the inside of us are of the flesh. If you are a child of God and serving Him with all of your heart, the Bible says that if you delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart (Ps. 37:4).

Desires are not fleshly, they're not carnal. Desires that come in the heart of a child of God are placed there by God.

I heard Pastor Mac Hammond say, "We are led by desires." That's one of the ways that God leads a child of God.

Think About It
"But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night" (Ps. 1:2).

When you delight in the law of the Lord day and night, the desires that come on the inside of you are God-given.
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.

Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
(Jer. 29:11-13 AMP)
When you begin to give yourself to the Lord with all of your heart, He will begin to give you the very desires of your heart.

The word meditate means to mentally image. You begin to mentally image what God says you can do, what God says you can have, what God says you can be, and the limitations will be taken off.

You Need To Expect A Miracle
When Jerry and I first began our walk of faith, we hardly had enough money to put food on our table. I remember writing off to Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association, and he was giving away bumper stickers that said, "Expect a Miracle." They sent me a free bumper sticker, and I stuck it on my refrigerator door because I had to believe God for the food to be in there.

I've been there.

But now I know that God wants us to live the good life that He's prearranged and planned for us ahead of time. But it's all dependent upon you taking God's Word into your heart and building it, line upon line, and precept upon precept.

You have to meditate on it day and night. The definition of meditate means to muse over, to ponder, to contemplate, to dwell on, to turn over and revolve over and over any subject in the mind, to think about it, to engage in deep and serious thought.

When God says to meditate on His Word day and night, then you're delighting yourself in the Lord, and what will happen? You'll receive the very desires of your heart.

The word "think" means to conceive, to imagine, to have ideas, to have the mind occupied on some subject, to consider, to muse, to meditate, to picture in one's mind conceivable, to reflect, and to ponder on.

If you can't see things changing on the inside of you, then you'll never receive it. You'll never have it. You'll never hold it. You'll never taste it. You'll never wear it, drive it, or live in it. You have to imagine it.
