It is fear that causes you to settle for far less than what God has in mind for your life. The fear of failure is probably the greatest single obstacle a believer has to overcome.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Tim. 1:7)

Today's Confession: “God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of love, peace, and a sound mind.”

The theme of our Bible correspondence school is a passion for God, a passion for souls, and a passion for life. If you’re passionate about something, you won’t let anything stand between you and it. Desire and passion are the greatest motivators for getting results. The greatest obstacle to your success and the tactic Satan uses the most to destroy your passion is the fear of failure.

The words that are the greatest enemy to your faith are found in Genesis 3:10. This is after Adam had committed high treason against God. Sin had been committed. God had created Adam in His likeness. God expected him to live by faith. After the fall, and after sin had been committed, we find these words when God asked Adam where he was.

“. . . I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” (Gen. 3:10)

Notice these three words – I was afraid. Those three words are the greatest enemy to your faith. Fear is the opposite of faith and fear will rob you of God’s best. God did not give you the spirit of fear.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
(2 Tim. 1:7)

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” (2 Tim. 1:7 AMP)

It is fear that causes you to settle for far less than what God has in mind for your life. The fear of failure is probably the greatest single obstacle a believer has to overcome. Everyone has experienced failure in some way or another. Many people never recover from the experience of it. If you have ever failed at anything, then Satan would love to use that as an obstacle or a barrier in your life so that you never have confidence to step out again.

But don’t let him do that. Begin to put your faith in operation. If Satan cannot deceive you by fear then he cannot defeat you.
