Are you borrowing from Peter to pay Paul? Are you pinching pennies? Have you been giving only to come up short at the end of the month? Does there not seem to be enough to go around? If so, your first reaction could be DEPRESSION.

"How is this money going to come in?" "How are we going to pay these bills?" "How are we going to make ends meet?" You may be having thoughts like these. Satan is hoping that you will react in thoughts of depression, giving up, and hopelessness.

If you dwell on these thoughts, Satan has you exactly where he wants you. But, we have the advantage over our adversary because of revelation knowledge from God's Word concerning our giving and receiving.

Notice David's reaction towards his "crisis" in Psalms 42. He continued to praise God even when his soul was cast down within him. When you are experiencing depression, marital problems, or sickness, the last thing you want to do is rejoice and shout for joy.

When you are at your lowest financially, the last thing you want to do is plant seed. When you are experiencing your greatest needs, you should be planting your greatest seeds!

Several years ago, Jerry was on his way to a meeting in Tulsa, and while on the plane, he was talking to God about our needs, and God instructed him to plant a seed.

As he was talking to God about another need, God told him to plant another seed. By the third time, he realized that what God was trying to get across to him was that we have to be "seed-minded" instead of "need-minded" which is contrary to the way the world does things.

It's not planting the seed alone that will get you out of debt, you must NAME YOUR SEED in order to know what to expect in your harvest.

The Unknown Seed Story
Once upon a time, a young farmer named Bob found an unlabeled package of seeds. Not knowing what kind they were, he proceeded to plant them in a large field along with other farmers who were planting seeds...

...Farmer Joe came along and asked him, "What are you planting?" Bob answered, "I don't know, I just happened to find this package of seeds. I have no idea what kind they are, I'm just going to do what a farmer is supposed to do—plant seeds."

Farmer Joe responded, "You mean you don't know what kind of crop they will produce?" Bob answered, "No, but I KNOW there will be a harvest, because I planted the seeds, so SOMETEIING will be produced." Farmer Joe snickered, "Well, we can't deny that!"

Several months later, Bob went back to check on his harvest and much to his amazement, he found nothing there.

Bob asked, "Hey, have you seen my harvest?" Dave replied, "I might have, what kind of seed did you plant?" Bob answered, "I don't know, but I planted it, and it's mine!" Dave replied, "If you don't know what kind of seeds you planted, how are you gonna find your harvest? Someone else could have taken your crops right in front of you, but you would never have known because you don't know the name of your seed.

You don't even know what to look for! For all you know, your harvest could be right in front of you, but you have no idea what to look for or where to look." Bewildered, Bob responded, "But I thought being a farmer, I was supposed to plant seeds, and then reap my harvest." "You've got the right idea, Bob, but you have to know what you're planting, so you'll know what you're reaping. You see, Bob, I planted tomato seeds, and now I have a harvest of tomatoes. That's how it works!"

Sometimes in the Body of Christ, we plant our seeds in the offering (because that's what Christians are supposed to do), and we fail to name our seed. Immediately, the devil steals our seed, and we can't figure out why we're not being blessed. If you don't name your seed, you don't know your harvest when it comes. If you're believing for a home, name your seed for a new home. It's that easy!

Let me encourage you to continue to give and NAME YOUR SEED when you give. Deuteronomy 8:18 says, "But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that gives thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day." Let's establish His Word in the earth!

Our purpose for naming our seed and reaping a harvest is so that we can have an abundance to give and see Matthew 24:14 fulfilled. "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
