"For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Cor. 6:20 NKJV)

Your body is not your own. Therefore, what you do with it is not totally up to you. You've been bought with a price. Jesus paid for you through His sacrifice on the cross. Your body belongs to God. It is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19). The Amplified Bible says it is His sanctuary.

God gave us the Holy Spirit to help us walk in holiness. We are separated from the world-separated to God. It is the Holy Spirit within you that prompts you to do what God wants you to do. God's own Spirit came into you when you made Jesus your Lord. To do what? To promote holiness and separation of our lives, our hearts, our very lifestyles and every action unto God. Read that sentence again.

Some people say not doing certain things will make you holy...like you can't wear certain clothes, you can't wear you hairstyle a certain way or you can't wear makeup, and so on. The truth is, none of those things will make you holy. They only affect the way you look.

Only God's Spirit will make you holy. We are united with God in such a way that the Holy Spirit is leading us, guiding us and directing us.

God has paid a high price for you. So worship Him in the way you treat your body. Honor Him with your lifestyle. Obey the peaceful voice of the Holy Spirit within you. Choose to live a holy life.
