(God sits in heaven and laughs…)God laughs…think about that. Really…take some time to ponder the thought! Ever just watched people? Your kids? Yourself? Yes…the Lord has plenty of "laughter fodder." I am sure God gives us teenagers simply so He can sit in heaven and laugh.
(Ps. 2:4)
He is not the harsh, sober, stoic, mean, judge that so many people have made Him out to be. The Bible says that in God's Presence there is "fullness of joy"! When we hang out with the Lord, we find Him to be a fun, refreshing, happy, smiling, joy-filled, positive Person with an easy laugh! I know that rocks some of our stereotypical ideas about God. Sure, there are many dimensions to the wonders of His person and joy and laughter are a part of God's very nature and character.
Most of us need a fresh dose of knowing our Father as One who laughs! Ever thought about what makes God laugh? What makes you laugh? Been too serious lately? There nothing like a good, "gut-busting" laugh. Spend time in God's Presence to refuel on the "fullness of joy" and be on the lookout for "laughable" things today. Remember the joy of the Lord is your strength!
Say This:
Father, if You sit in heaven and laugh; then today I will sit in my SUV and laugh; I will sit at work at laugh; I will sit at home and laugh. Help me to spend more time in Your Presence where there is no lack for joy and help me to see things with a new set of eyes so that I can relax and laugh. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
