You can accomplish more in one hour through Christ than one lifetime without him.

"The Lord replied, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest'" (Exodus 33:14).

What a comforting promise this is for us today…the assurance of his divine presence. The Septuagint version reads, "I myself will go with you."

Our King is Near
During World War I, a soldier at the front received a copy of one of the Gospels. Although he read it, he could not accept the reality of Christ.

One night he was on sentry duty. Alone in the presence of danger, he thought about God. How he wished he could believe in the reality of Christ and know that His presence was with him there!

Suddenly, he was aware of someone standing behind him. To his surprise, he saw King Albert, his king, standing sentry duty with him.

This experience was used of God to make him realize that the Lord would be as near and as real to him as King Albert was. As a result, he became a Christian.

Assured of his presence, we are assured also of His rest—no matter what crisis befalls, no matter what emergency arises; His presence is with us, helping strengthening, comforting, encouraging, and giving wisdom and understanding.
