Most Christians don't realize that the love of God is something they have. Romans 5:5 says "because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Whenever a person gets saved, the Holy Ghost comes inside a believer.

1 John 4:4 says, "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." Who is the Greater one talked about here? He is Christ! Christ is the Greater One. When you receive Jesus into your heart, you also receive His love.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." There are a lot of people out there that are "in a crisis." But whenever you get "in Christ," you have been born again. Romans 10:9-10 tells us how to get "in Christ":

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Once you are in Christ, the love of God is place on the inside of you. This is how people know that you are a child of God. 1 John 3:14 tells us this: "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death." Our love for each other is the greatest thing we have to prove that we are God's children. In John 13: 34 Christ says,

A new commandment that I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Walking in love is something that is not always fun to do. Many people deal with things such as unforgiveness, bitterness, envy, strife, and a list of others. But, if they would focus on walking in the love of God, they would see that love thinks the best of every person. Love does not envy. Love is not jealous. Love thinks no evil. Love never fails! We have to walk in God's love if we want God's blessings.

Another thing we can see about love is that God is love. You cannot know God without knowing love, and you cannot know true love without knowing God. 1 John 4: 8 says, "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." The closer we get to God, the more love we will show not only to God, but also to those around us.

Here is a confession about the love of God that you should confess daily. It will help you become conscious of the love of God in your life:

The love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost. I shall endeavor to let that love nature dominate me. I have God's love nature in my heart—in my spirit. Therefore I will not let my natural human reasoning dominate me. I refuse to allow the flesh to rule me. I'm going to walk in the Spirit by walking in love. I am a love, not a hater. I will practice and exercise the fruit of love so that it will grow and increase.

One way I will practice the God kind of love is by taking no thought to a suffered wrong. I will also practice thinking and saying the best of every person so that my love can grow and develop, and I can be a blessing to many. I will make the love of God my great quest in life, for then my love shall abound and God shall reap the glory. I will walk in God's love. I will not criticize others because God's love works no ill to his neighbor.

When I am walking in God's love, I can claim God's best blessings in life. I will be tenderhearted and forgiving; therefore I shall reap a blessing. I will keep my tongue from speaking evil and pursue peace with every man. I thank you father that I endeavor to grow in the fruit of love, you will help me be all that I can be in you.
