Why do some Christians grasp spiritual concepts and others don't?

Christians must want to acquire revelation knowledge. If they don't have a desire to learn more about God, they won't. God emphatically states that He will give us what we desire. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened" (Matt. 7:7-8 NIV).

I like the way it's put in the book of James:
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
(James 1:5-8 NIV)
If we ask God in faith for wisdom, He will give it to us! The responsibility falls on us as individuals to seek God and to desire spiritual things. It's wonderful to know that we can have as much of God as we desire.

I would also recommend that you pray this Bible prayer for yourself and others on a regular basis:
...I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.
(Eph. 1:16-19 NKJV)
