The only thing the Lord ever said to me using the word "election" was in June 2008: "One thing will save America, and it is not the election. It is an awakening to God...."
The Lord has impressed me with something very important. Especially for right now.

It started a couple of weeks ago, with my reading another book by someone who had a near death experience and visited Heaven. Dr. Mary Neal (I think that's her name; I don't have the book here) is an orthopedic surgeon, as is her husband. She is a spinal surgeon.

She drowned as her kayak was caught under a rock in rapid water in Chile. She'd been afraid of death by drowning, but said she experienced no pain, or panic. She seemed to be held in the Lord's arms as one would cradle a baby. She did visit the entrance to Heaven, and shared her experiences well.

However, what I want to share here is something that happened when she returned.

She was in ICU, her body, and especially her legs crushed. She asked for a Bible. She wanted to read her favorite Psalms, but she could not read. Everything was blurry. The television. The nurse's face. As she tried to turn the pages of the Bible, one verse became clearly focused. All the rest of the Bible was unreadable.

The verse was: Rejoice evermore!!! And so she did it.

After some time, another verse appeared readable. Pray without ceasing! And so she did.

She did these two verses, with the Lord teaching her how to do it even in a bad situation.

Then another verse cleared, the next one:  In everything give thanks for this is the will of God!!

For some time that was it. Those verses were all she could read, but they were what she needed to bring her out. And they did!

Now, just today I was reading Habakkuk 3. Verse 16 speaks of "the day of trouble" (Hebrew tsara, tribulation). Hebrew commentators say this is the time just preceding the Messiah's coming.
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fall, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and no herd in the stalls; Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord, God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places.
(Hab. 3: 17-19)
I see it so plainly. What will bring one out of distress is rejoicing!

I'm also reminded of my son, Chip's out of body experience where the Lord took him up over the football field where he's once played. There he saw crowds of people bunched up unable to cross the goal line. He was told that the play that would get them across to answered prayer was: rejoice!

The only thing the Lord ever said to me using the word "election" was in June 2008: "One thing will save America, and it is not the election. It is an awakening to God...."

He has never changed our prayer focus. And neither will we. Great things are happening. People are awakening.

Rejoice! Rejoice! And again I say rejoice!
