Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
(John 15:13, NKJV)
These words of Jesus were part of His final expression of love toward His friends. His life, exchanged for our lives, was indeed the greatest act of love the world has ever known.

We are thankful for the men and women who have served our country as personnel of the United States Armed Forces and who deemed the citizens of their nation and other nations to be their friends.

We are grateful for their commitment to defend and protect their friends—both their military brothers on the front line and their loved ones on the home front—even at the ultimate cost. We honor them and remember their sacrifice. Always.

This weekend, as we remember these great men and women who gave their lives, we pray for those whom they left behind—mothers, fathers, spouses, children, brothers, sisters. According to 1 Peter 5:10, we pray that our God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered awhile, restore your soul, establish you, strengthen you and settle your heart.

We celebrate the extraordinary lives of our loved ones and honor their ultimate service to the nation and to the world. We say, “Thank You, Lord, for these friends!”

Jesus is Lord!
