So you think you're having a bad day?

When I was just out of high school, I was dating a girl that I thought I was going to marry. Sometime into our relationship she had the audacity to break up with me.

I couldn't believe it! I said, "Woman, you're making a mistake!" But the first time she broke up with me, man, I was devastated. (That's right I said the FIRST time.)

I wasn't walking in the peace of God because I thought my world had ended! So do you know what I decided to do? I decided that I'd just end it all right there. I decided to commit suicide.

I went down to the local "Stop and Rob," (actually they are called "Stop and Go" but because so many people would stop and rob them that they called them...you get it).

So I went to the local Stop and Go and I bought the biggest jar of... (Are you ready for this?) Flintstone vitamins that I could find on the shelf. That was it, man, I was going to end it all!

I went home and went to my room and I started popping old Freddy, Barney and Wilma. Then I started going really big time, DENO! I popped all of those babies. I slammed those vitamins down one after the other. This was it for me man. "Forgive me Jesus I'm comin' home!"

(I want you to know that at the time, I knew in my heart that I was not serious about committing suicide. I was just feeling sorry for myself. Suicide IS NOT an option! I'm trying to make a point here so stick with me.)

Suddenly, things started to get really bad. I was lying there I was saying, "Oh God, I just feel life leaving me." When my roommate came back to our room; (I was in Bible college at the time. Can you believe this? I was such an idiot!) My roommate came in and said, "Steve, come on, let's go play volleyball."

I squeaked out a feeble reply as I squinted at him, "Freddie, is that you? Come closer. Come closer so I can see you." He came over and said, "What's the matter with you?"

I said, "I'm ending it all man. Nancy broke up with me. It's all over. I just took this super-sized bottle of Flintstone Vitamins."

Have you have ever taken too many vitamins at one time?

I'm telling you I had the worst case of the runs you could ever imagine! I sat on the toilet for THREE DAYS! Woooh! One week later, after the chapping left and I could walk normal again...I thought man, what was I even thinking?

When you're not focusing on the power of God's Word, things move you and conditions move you. But when dig into the power of God's Word, you will move the conditions!

So dig into the Bible today and start changing the conditions around you! (And don't take too many vitamins at once!)
