Lies have to become truth before you will believe them; you have to be convinced it is the truth. Are you with me? The Bible calls Satan an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). He looks beautiful on the outside, but he is a deceiver all the way.
One of the most tragic results of the fall of man (Genesis) is that man's mind became darkened. Satan has deceived the world into believing that he is the truth and God is the lie.
You are probably sitting there saying to yourself, "But, Steve, this sounds absolutely crazy!" Yeah maybe, but in the natural this is true! I have a prime example.
Look at the world today. They feel that Satan has a greater plan for their lives than God does. How can that be? Satan can only lie. He can never tell the truth. The Bible says that Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44). So what is God's solution to Satan's lies? The truth! The Word. The Bible!
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:31-32).
The truth will set you free. Set you free from what? The lies. The devil says you are sick. The Bible says that you are healed (1 Pet. 2:24). So which one are you going to believe?
The lie says you are going to be poor. The truth says you are going to prosper.
The lie says you will never be happy. The truth says you will always be happy.
So which one are you going to believe?
Now why would Satan want you to believe the lies? Because he feels that if his influence can be greater than God's influence, you will not only believe the lie but you will become part of the lie.
It is then that you will start fulfilling the destiny of the lie rather than the destiny of the truth!
