And had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well."
Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.
(Mark 5:25-29)
This woman had spent all her money on doctors; but instead of getting better, her condition grew worse. She was at the point of death when she "heard about Jesus…." She heard that He was healing the sick, and His message of healing got inside of her. "If He is healing others, He can heal me." She heard, she came, she spoke, and then she laid hold of Jesus' clothes.
As Jesus walked through the crowd, this woman connected with Him. Mark 5:30 says, "And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, 'Who touched My clothes?'" The woman "…fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth" (v. 33). In verse 34, Jesus spoke to the woman, "…Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction."
When you have exhausted every avenue to meet your need and it looks as though there is no other way, whether it is healing, provision, or something else, Jesus is always available and accessible. You "connect" with Him by calling on His name. You lay hold of the promises of His Word through faith and by speaking them aloud. When nothing else will do, a miracle is waiting for you!
