Remember when Jesus got ticked because his hometown didn't receive Him? Remember that? The Bible says a prophet has no honor in his own country. Well, if you remember, Jesus got a little ticked and He said, "OK, devil, I am going to get even."

So He called all of His disciples on the cell phone and got them together. He then separated them by twos (there were around 70 at the time). And He said, go preach the Gospel! Cast out demons! Lay hands on the sick; they shall recover!

Whew! That was D.B.K.T., baby! (Devil Booty Kickin' Time)

The disciples were casting out demons and they were healing the sick and they were just having a phenomenal time. But then just 137 Scriptures later a man came up to them with his son (Matt. 17:14-21).

The son was demon-possessed. He told the disciples that his son threw himself in the fire, he was out of control, he bit people, and he slobbered all over the place. The man told them, "Hey, I need some help here!"

The disciples prayed for him and nothing happened. Not one thing happened! The same disciples, 137 scriptures earlier, were casting devils out of adults....Now they couldn't even cast a demon out of a boy!

Jesus arrived on the scene and saw all the ruckus. When the disciples saw Jesus, they went, "Oh, thank God He is here!" The people were hostile because, hey, these were the disciples! Just a few weeks ago they had been casting out demons and now they were doing nothing!

Jesus walked onto the scene and said, "What's goin' on?" The boys father explained the situation to Jesus, who immediately cast out the demon!

GONE! C-ya! Bye-bye! Have a nice day in demonville.

The disciples were flabbergasted. They asked, "Why couldn't we do that?" Jesus said, "This kind only goes out by prayer and fasting!" (Matt. 17:21)

Prayer and consecration! There is an element of power that you possess when you have a consistent prayer life—and a consecrated life—unto God!

If things aren't happening for you, take an inventory of your prayer life. That's why you need to be prayed up!
