The word "infirmity" means "weakness, want of strength, indicating our inability to produce results or to get the job done." We could then say it this way: We have help where we are weak.
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered" (Rom. 8:26).

Romans 8:26 describes to us the job of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is here to help us. But notice that you can only be helped when you are doing something. If you are not doing anything, then you don't really need any help. So, we can see that it does not say that the Holy Spirit does everything for us. However, it does say that He helps our infirmities.

The word "infirmity" means "weakness, want of strength, indicating our inability to produce results or to get the job done." We could then say it this way: We have help where we are weak. We have help where we can't get the job done. And the help that we have is the Holy Ghost.

Jesus said in John 14:16-17, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. And He is in you to help you."

Thank God, He didn't leave us by ourselves.

Well, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, helps us with our infirmities. But we don't know how to pray as we should. We don't know all the facts concerning a matter. We don't understand necessarily what is going on in the future and we don't fully know the true and complete results of what happened in the past.

But there is One who sees and knows all things. He is the Holy Ghost and He is our Helper.

Furthermore, we see that the Spirit Himself, makes intercession for us with groanings, which cannot be uttered. Those groanings refer to praying in other tongues. And the Father searches the heart and He knows the mind of the Spirit, because He, the Holy Spirit, makes intercession for us according to the will of God.

And we see that all things work for our good. Romans 8:28 says that all things work together. The word work means in that verse means cooperate in the Greek. All things cooperate together for our benefit and well-being.

We get to see that all things cooperate, work together to the benefit of them that love God. And if you do the things set forth in Romans 8 and you love God, then all these things will cooperate together for your good.
