"Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word" (Acts 6:3-4).

Spending time daily in the Word of God and in prayer is vital in this day in which we live. We must not get caught up in the things of life that will distract us from the One who has the answers to bring increase. In Acts chapter 6, there is a dispute going on about serving the widows. They were being neglected, and the apostles had to do something about it.

Well, certain things happened there. The disciples said, now we can't get caught up in all the stuff that is going on. We can just get too caught up in the fast pace of life. There is the cooking, the working, the administrating, and all kind of things. You can do so many things that you don't have enough time to seek the face of God in the Word and prayer.

Now the apostles said, we are not falling for that. And so we are going to have somebody else do this and we are going to spend time seeking God's face in prayer. And guess what happened. The Word increased.

What did that mean? That meant they had more revelation of the Word come forth. And the more revelation of the Word you have the more light you have, and the more darkness can't dominate you anymore. The Word of God increased and guess what? The power was so strong on them that all the other priests in town saw it and said, "We have to join up with them."

What happened? Somebody didn't get caught up in all the stuff of this world. They weren't spending all the time just watching the news. Somebody was seeking the face of God. And God showed them what to do. And increase came as a result.

And when you decide that you are going to give God time every day by seeking His face in the Word and prayer, then God will show you what to do about any and every situation you face. Then increase will come as a result.
