Let's talk about immortality. Children dirty their pants, and Christians make huge mistakes and then try to justify them away. Now if you're in a nursery hanging out with a bunch of children and they all dirty their pants, it is easier to say, "Well, mine don't smell that bad because everybody else's smells, too."

But, if you're twelve years old and hanging around a bunch of other people who are not in the nursery and you're dirtying your pants, you can tell that it smells pretty bad.

It's the same way with immorality. If you are hanging around a bunch of other worldly people who are fooling around with sex a lot, but you're not too much, then you feel pretty righteous about it. You don't seem to smell too bad.

But if you are hanging out with people who are really going after God and you blow it just a little bit, you're going to realize it smells pretty bad to them and to the Lord because it's messing up your life.

The Bible has a lot to say about fleeing immorality:
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
(1 Cor. 6:18)

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, not even a look or an attitude, looking at a girl up and down, or checking out a guy's body.
(Eph. 5:3)

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
(Col. 3:5)

Note here that it says to put it to death. That means change your diapers. Don't think like that, don't act like that, don't do that thing anymore.

It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality.
(1 Thess. 4:3)
It says, avoid sexual immorality. You have the power to steer around it. You don't have to keep messing your pants and saying, "But I just can't help it." Yes, you can help it.

Keep the lights on, stay out of the dark, stay away from being alone with a guy or a girl. The good news is that God has given you the power to have self-control.

I want you to think right now of any sexual immorality you may have in your life, now or in the past. Include thoughts or anything that could have been interpreted as a hint of sexual immorality.

Take a moment now to pray and repent. "God, I'm sorry. I want to be totally clean, and I choose to use self-control in this area of my life." Take three minutes to meditate on 1 Cor. 6:18 right now.

Now, take four minutes to meditate on Eph. 5:3. Say it over and over and over and over again until it starts getting down in your heart.

Now take these two Scriptures today; memorize them, chew on them. Make them a part of you so that any time you get tempted with any thought of immoral action you're ready.

Instead of following through with that action (or even just continuing to think on that thought), rip these Scriptures out as an act of self-control. You don't do this because you feel like it, but you force yourself to remember the right way, the godly way, the honorable way to respond.

Changing your dirty pants in this area means repenting and saying:
Lord, I refuse to just do what my body or what society says is the norm to do. I am going to do the right thing. To make sure I remember the right thing, I am going to cram these Bible verses down into my heart so that it is my natural response the next time I am tempted.
It's the natural response when you feel like you have to go to the bathroom to run to the bathroom, even in the middle of the night. In the same way, your natural response when you are tempted with immorality should be to run to the Scripture.

Rip it out of your heart. Rip it out of your pocket and quote that thing so it becomes natural for you to have clean diapers.
