Many parents today are watching helplessly as their children are taken captive by the ways of the world. But it doesn't have to be that way.
You don't have to be the victim of your circumstances! You don't have to sit around and let the devil steal your kids or your health or your money. If you'll just get in agreement and pray, you can run him right out of those areas of your life.

Matthew 18:19 (KJV) says, "If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." Meditate on that verse. Get a revelation of it! When you do, you won’t be willing to throw away that kind of prayer power for the sake of some silly argument!

Free From the Curse!
You'll also want to clean out your emotional closets and get rid of all the resentments you've stored up from the past. Why? Because those, too, will sap the power of your prayers.

Follow the instructions of Jesus in Mark 11:25: "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."

Once you get things straight between you and your husband or you and your wife, you'll have a lot more power where your children are concerned.

In this day of crime, drugs, perversion, and rebellion running rampant, Christian parents all over this nation are concerned about their children. Yet very few of them know what rights and promises are given to them as parents in the Word of God.

Galatians says,
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
(Gal. 3:13-14 KJV)
For the most part, those of us who are believers have been well taught about our redemption from sin, sickness, disease, and poverty. We know we don't have to put up with those things. But often, when it comes to our children, we live with the curse as though we had no other choice.

What are the effects of that curse? You can find them in Deuteronomy 28:
Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eye shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand. Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
(Deut. 28:32)
Many parents today are living out these verses. They're watching helplessly as their children are taken captive by the ways of the world. But it doesn't have to be that way. Jesus has broken the power of the curse in the life of every believer. Act on His promise. Order Satan out of your children's lives.

Don't wait for your children to make the first move. Go to battle for them in prayer. Children don't understand the unseen forces that come against them. Part of your responsibility as a parent is to put up a shield of faith that will help protect your children from the influence of the evil one.

Like most parents, Gloria and I have had to deal with rebellion. We realized that it had to be stopped and stopped quickly. When we first saw the warning signs, we sought for the scriptures we could use to combat these forces. Gloria made a study of them. She wrote down every scriptural promise that she could find concerning our children.

I'll never forget the day she and I sat down in the middle of the bed amidst a pile of papers and Bibles and agreed on those scriptures in prayer. We took authority in the spirit world and refused to give the devil any room to operate.

Once we exercised the authority given us by God’s Word, we also took every opportunity to minister love to the children. Before long, they were responding to it. It wasn’t easy, though. At times we wanted to cry or lose our tempers. But, whenever we were tempted to react in the natural, we would remember such scriptures as Jeremiah 31:16,17 (KJV).
Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they [your children] shall come again from the land of the enemy. And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
(Jer. 31:16-17 KJV)
We stood on the promises of God, and those promises got the job done! They'll do the same for you. Take them to heart. Resist the temptation to weep for your children. Start believing the Word. It is the only thing that will bring them around. Second Peter 2:9 assures us that God knows how to deliver them, so give Him the opportunity. Do your part and trust Him to do His.

If you allow the enemy to stop you at your own front door, you will be no threat to him anywhere else. Decide today that disharmony, clashing, and tension are luxuries that you cannot afford—especially at home!

And above all, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone (Rom. 12:18 AMP). Resist strife just as you would sin or sickness. Discord is deadly, and it is always of the devil. You can’t afford it. It will paralyze the power of God in your life.

Give your family one of the greatest gifts of all time—a home full of love, peace, and power of God. Then you can all enjoy a little bit of heaven on earth...all year around.
