Fitly joined together means that we love one another. It also means that we are so close that if my brother had bad breath I could smell it.

From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
(Eph. 4:16)
The more you seek the face of God the more God is going to have you pray for your brethren.

From whom the whole body fitly joined together.

There is loosely joined together. Then there is fitly joined together. Fitly joined together means that we love one another. It also means that we are so close that if my brother had bad breath I could smell it.

Then it says that we are compacted together. Compacted means pressed together. We are drawing closer by that which every joint supplies. My brother supplies something to me. I am supplying something to him. Then, as I get blessed, he gets blessed because we are so close. And if I get hit we are so close that he gets hit too.

Now if I love you then I am willing to deal with your idiosyncratic ways (or your funny ways). If I love you I can deal with certain things about you that may turn me off. It is true that if I hang around you long enough I am going to find something about you that I don't like, and you are going to find four or five things you don't like about me. So, if we are going to constantly build one another up, we have to grow up enough to be able to overlook the faults of others.

We should overlook that which we see in our brother or our sister that we don't like, and still deal with them. Not only should we deal with them, but we should also pray for them continually, not just one time and that's it.

When the Holy Ghost deals with your heart about an individual, you have to pray for that individual until you see they are delivered from that matter. You must be willing to stick with that individual and pray for that individual weeks, months, even if it takes years. You are not going to give up, because you love him so much.

When you love somebody then you are willing to invest something that is important to you, that is valuable to you—and that is your time. Be willing to overlook their faults and stick with them in prayer. Also, remember to pray for your pastor as well as all the saints in the body of Christ.
