Have you ever been forgotten? Has there ever been a time when a friend, family member, or someone else has said they would do something for you, but then they didn’t ever do it? You may have felt a little disappointed, or you may have felt really hurt and confused.
People we love and trust don’t usually forget us on purpose. Sometimes they just get too busy and don’t remember what they have promised. It is true that if we make a promise to someone, we should make sure that we keep that promise. At the same time, we should always be willing to forgive whenever someone doesn’t keep their promise to us.
In this world of promises made, and promises which are often broken, there is Someone Who never forgets you. Even if it seems like there is no one you can really trust, you can be sure that God can always be trusted to do what He has said.
With God, you are never forgotten.
Isaiah 49.15-16 says, Can a mother forget her infant child?... Even if that were possible, says the Lord, I would never forget you. See, I have inscribed you in the palm of My hand.
The Lord will never forget you. And He will never break His promise. God will always make good on what He has said.
Numbers 23.19 assures, God is not man that He should lie. He is not human that He should change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?
The Lord never gets too busy that He forgets you or forgets to do what He has said He would do. People may forget you, but God won’t forget – ever. The Lord will never lie to you. Once He has made a promise, He doesn’t later change His mind. You can always count on His word.
Right now, you may be going through a difficult situation in your family or in some other area of your life. It may seem like there is no hope or that everyone has forgotten you.
No matter what it is you are experiencing, you can rest assured that it has not gone without God’s notice. Even if you haven’t prayed about what’s going on, or even if you have, you can be certain that the Lord knows exactly what you are going through, AND HE HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU.
Don’t let what you are dealing with get you down. The Lord is there with you, and He will never leave you or abandon you. If you will trust Him with all your problems and all your concerns, He will take care of it for you. He loves you and will always be faithful to you.
The next time someone forgets to do what they promised you, or you feel alone and without help – remember that God is watching over you...and with Him, you are never forgotten.
