When interviewing staff, do you sift out those who just blow a lot of smoke?

Jude wrote, some people "speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining advantage" (Jude 16 NASB).

Two tactics of some job seekers are to flatter the interviewer and then make exaggerated claims of past successes.

During interviews, ask the candidate to explain how claimed results were achieved. Follow up and insist on being provided with complete details.

Effective employees will be able to furnish complete details, giving you a clear picture of how they operate, while ineffective employees will not give a clear picture.
