When leading a major long-term project, establish benchmarks and then celebrate each milestone with your team.
As you celebrate, remind everyone of three things. First, the progress made so far. Second, the goal to be reached and how much closer that goal is today. Finally, recap the advantages to the business and each team member when the outcome is realized in the future.
