Joshua was entering the Promised Land and was told, "...the Lord your God will clear away these nations before you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly..." (Deut. 7:22 NASB).
When taking over a new department, we may be tempted to shape up the staff immediately to our standards. However, change may take time.
First, establish a minimum baseline where everyone needs to be and immediately insist one and all reach that minimum level.
Then, bring the team up one step at a time.
