During the Christmas season, people get so busy with other things that we forget the real reason for Christmas. One reason this happens is that it is a tool used by Satan to divert our attention from what God has and will do for us.

"And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus" (Luke 1:31).

The devil knows that there is only one tool he can use against Christians during the Christmas season: "I have to get them, either to not know what their rights are, or I have to get them diverted to something else."

He has to get us focused on her; focused on him, focused on them, focused on us, focused on this, that and the other. He has to get us focused on everything else except on Jesus.

Now, we ought to sing about the blood at Christmas. The issue is not the baby. That is where it starts, plus, the issue is not the baby in the swaddling clothes. All the joy about that is that redemption is coming.

Thank God. I mean, you have to have a start in order to have a finish. But you ought to talk about the end of this thing. The end of this thing is that the baby means bloodshed. Without the shedding of blood there is no redemption. The baby means bloodshed. There is going to be blood shed. There is going to be death. And it is going to be in your place.

To this end, if there is any time we ought to witness, it ought to be in this season. We ought to tell people the reason the baby was born. That baby was the Son of God wrapped in human flesh, and He came to pay the penalty for our sin.

This is the time to witness. People are more open this time of year than at any other time of year. People are open to hear the gospel story.

The greatest gift you can help God with is to tell the story of Christmas and the message of hope and salvation that comes through knowing Jesus. We need to tell people about Jesus and witness to them, so they can be saved and delivered into eternal life with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
