I have a friend who has told me Jesus isn’t going to literally return to the earth. He said the church will take over the earth and then Jesus will rule through them. Is this true?
The Bible declares that things on the earth will worsen until the coming of the Lord (2 Tim. 3:1-13). The church will grow and increase, but those who don’t accept Jesus will plummet deeper and deeper into sin.
The only solution for the earth and mankind is the return of Jesus. The Bible plainly states that Jesus will return to the earth and set up His kingdom.
“Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man (Jesus) be.”
(Matt. 24:26-27)Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses….
Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him (Jesus) a thousand years.
