“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever (Heb. 13:8 KJV).
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. The word same means not changed. Jesus has not changed. He is the same today as He was yesterday; and as He is today He will be tomorrow and forever. That then begs the question, how was He?
We see how Jesus is throughout the gospels. Matthew 9:35, in particular, tells us what He did then. “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”
Notice what Jesus did. He filled the synagogues, where the church was gathered together, with teaching. We need teaching to learn how to keep our healing once we receive it. But when Jesus got outside of the synagogue among the people, He preached the gospel.
He inspired them to receive what He had taught, just as we sometimes need a sudden inspiration to receive the gospel – the good news. Every time you see the word gospel in your Bible you should write in the margin good news. Jesus preached or proclaimed the good news of the kingdom. Then the third thing Jesus did is that He healed the sick.
What in the world could be good news to a poor man? Your poverty is ended; you don’t have to be poor no more. What then could be good news to a sick man? Healing is yours. There has been a change in your situation.
We see then that Jesus went about teaching, preaching and healing. He hasn’t changed. He is still teaching through the ministers of the gospel, and by the Holy Spirit. He is still inspiring people to preach, and He is still manifesting healing.
Healing is available for all of us today, as we are taught the Word of God. And then as the Word is preached to us to inspire us to believe in what we are taught, healing can then be manifested in our physical bodies. Healing is yours today, if you can believe.
