“For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We start with faith as our foundation and then we add to it virtue, knowledge self-control, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. Peter then says that if these qualities of God’s divine nature are in you and abound, you will never be barren or unfruitful in your walk with God.
True and exact knowledge of our Lord Jesus puts us over in life. It makes mighty men and women out of us. It answers all the questions of what we are supposed to do in this life.
The Message Bible says: “With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus.”
Ever increasing faith is what we get as we develop these characteristics in our lives. God has a purpose for each of us. It is to become like He is, so we can do as He does.
I will fulfill God’s plan for my life as I develop Christ like qualities in my daily living.
