Minister to the Body of Christ

by Keith Butler | Uncategorized

“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence” (Col. 1:18).

Since Jesus is not physically walking the earth today, how do we minister unto Him the way they did in the Bible? Well today, you minister to the Lord when you minister to the body of Christ. Any time you minister your substance to His body, God is pleased.

Jesus is the head of the church and we are His body. Now, your body doesn’t walk around without your head, does it? No. The head and the body are one. So then, if Christ is the head and we are the body, then we are all called Christ.

Now don’t go “tilt.”

We’re all called the anointed one because Christ is the Anointed One. First John 4:4 says, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world”—that’s the anointing. First John 2:27 says, the anointing you have received of Him abides in you.

Now you and I didn’t earn the anointing. It wasn’t because of our goodness that we’re anointed. God, in His infinite mercy, commended His anointing to us and He expects us to act like the anointed One and minister to the body of Christ.

Because of the anointing, you can go into the world and preach the gospel, lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, and take up serpents and no deadly thing will hurt you. Why? If the head is anointed then so is the body—you are the body and you are anointed.

Everyone who ministers unto the Lord opens the door for their seed to bring them a great return. So when the Lord tells you to give to someone, you need to obey Him. You cannot be moved by whether or not they look like they have more than you. That’s God’s business, not yours. You just obey God. Obedience will cause God to open the door of blessing for you.

Over the years, the Lord had me buy cars for people, pay their rent for a year, and many other things. God had me bless people and sometimes those things were expensive. But do you know how I got in the position to minister unto the body of Christ? I minister to the Lord with the substance that He gave me.

Any time you honor the Lord, your barns (bank accounts) shall be filled with plenty. When you minister to the saints, you’re ultimately ministering to the Lord.
