New Creature

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

(2 Cor. 5:17)

Anyone who belongs to Jesus Christ is a new person, a brand new creation that didn’t exist before they came to Jesus. Through the new birth we have been given a new identification in Christ. We are joined to Christ and the old man, our old life, is gone; behold, the new has come.

The Message Bible says: Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it!

Because of our relationship with Jesus the past is erased and everything is new in our inner man. The old way of living has disappeared. We now have a new way of living revealed to us. We are authorized and empowered by Jesus to live this new life out to the fullest. As we do, God is smiling all the way.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am a new creature, a brand new creation in Christ Jesus. My past is gone. I have a new life to live and today is my day to do it.
