“I will work and who can hinder or reverse it?” (Isa. 43:13 AMP).
For the Christian, deliverances and answers to prayer are always a result of divine intervention. Waiting for the answer to come, however, can cause spiritual tension. Especially when the answer is delayed.
Negative or unchanging circumstances tend to produce impatience, anxiety, and doubt: “Will God hear me and help me, or not?” is often the question the weary soul asks.
What a reassurance then is this word from the Lord in Isaiah 43:13: “I will work. I will intervene. I will exert divine energy in your behalf. My power is being released. Your answer is on its way.”
Ten thousand malevolent voices may be screaming at you that your situation is different, that things will never turn out right for you, that your deliverance will never come. These are the voices of the accuser and his hosts of demons; they are lying vanities.
But when the voice of the Lord pierces through the gloom and despair with these reassuring words, “I will work,” all the harassing demons of doubt, fear, and uncertainty are immediately silenced.
“…I will work…” is a word of truth that builds faith and confidence; it steadies the soul to a posture of assured expectancy.
“…And who can hinder or reverse it?” lets us know that God’s power can flood in on us in such a powerful way that no earthly or devilish force can possibly hold it back.
A person may as well stand on the beach with a broom in his hand trying to sweep back the incoming tide as to attempt to reverse the flow of God’s blessing into the lives of those whom He has determined to bless.
