Power, Love, And A Sound Mind

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

(2 Tim.1:7 KJV)

We have power from God to live a life pleasing to Him and power to do His works for Him. We have the love of God to touch people as He would touch them and this is not by our own limited ability but by the divine touch of God. We have a sound mind to think straight as if he stood right here in our shoes facing the things we face. God is awesome and gives us awesome traits.

The Message Bible says: God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible.

God did not give us a spirit of apprehension and anxiety. He doesn’t distribute shyness, nervousness or tension to His kids. He gives us the spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind. That implies we have self-control, discipline and good judgment in daily living. We practice no cowardice. We walk fearlessly through life, fully trusting Jesus to make us successful.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Go I have received from God a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Jesus walks in my shoes with me today
