Redeemed From The Curse

by Tim Davidson | Uncategorized

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.

(Gal. 3:13 KJV)

Thank God, Jesus set us free from the curse that came with keeping the law. If anyone failed the law in any point, the law itself pronounced a judgment and wrath upon the lawbreaker.

The Message Bible says: Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree?” That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the Cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse.

Jesus Christ rescued all of us from the edict’s curse, by becoming or taking on Himself the curse of lawbreaking in our place. The Scriptures say that anyone who is nailed to a tree is under a curse. Jesus therefore went there for us and paid the price and purchased our freedom.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Christ redeemed me from the curse and penalty of the law by taking it for me.
