Serving With Reward

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

(Col. 3:24 KJV)

When we are around people that are lost, hurting and hopeless, we reach out to them with the love of God. This verse says that when we do that it is the Lord Jesus Christ that we are serving. Jesus has many ways of rewarding those who serve Him. How will He reward you?

The Message Bible says: Confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ.

What is the reward we will get for faithfully serving Jesus? Our Master will give us an inheritance as our compensation. It’s eternal life and all of its trimmings. It’s peace, joy and power now, as well as a home in heaven when we die.

It pays great dividends to serve God now. Not only do we seal our future reward but we also activate the real purpose of our lives. We are born again to serve the ones Jesus loves and died for. And fulfilling our God given purpose will be a reward in itself.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

It is my real master Jesus Christ I serve today.

I serve Him with joy.
