The Cycle of Blessing

by Andre Butler | The Anointed Word

“Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine” (Prov. 3:9-10 KJV).

When I think of something filled, I see it all the way up to the brim so that nothing else can get in it. Proverbs says your barns (plural) shall be filled with plenty. It didn’t say barn it said barns. Today, barns is equivalent to bank accounts.

Most banks have a ceiling, a maximum amount that you can have deposited in it. So Proverbs is saying that you will have so much that you will have to open additional accounts, because you have reached the ceiling at your bank, or other financial institution.

Further, it says, “…and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”

That is representative of production on the job. In the days Proverbs was written, people worked in the presses every day. Speaking in today’s terms, if they were a car dealer, that is the car dealership. If they were a businessperson, that is their office.

Proverbs is saying that your car dealership will now be filled with new cars, which you will sell. Your business office will be filled with new deals, which you will see through.

The place where you work may have been a business that was failing, but because you are there it will start to produce. It is going to burst out with new production. If your job is seeing an increase in financial production because of you, that means more money is going to come into your hands. Particularly if it is your on personal business.

That’s what happened between Laban and Jacob. Laban told Jacob, “The Lord blessed me since you came” (Gen. 30:27). Joseph’s masters figure it out as well. Everything Joseph touched prospered (Gen. 41:37-45). So they will figure it out about you too. But if production keeps going up, then your money is going to keep going up.

So, get this picture. You have plenty in your pockets, plenty in your house, plenty in your bank accounts, and more money coming than you need to open up some more bank accounts. And as you honor God with the tithe and offering of that increase, God is going to once again bring more money to you so you will have to open more bank accounts.

Are you starting to see the cycle. It is starting to go up and up and up and up and up. But you have got to get in the plan of God by honoring the Lord with your tithes and offerings.
