We Are Accepted

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”

(Eph. 1:6)

This word “accepted” means to bestow with special honor or to highly favor. God freely bestows His favor on us because He sees us in Jesus the Beloved. He doesn’t see us as alone and lost but as His own family members in Christ.

When He sees us He only sees us as a part of His Son. Our identity is forever tied to Jesus. We should want to praise God for His wonderful grace.

The Message Bible says: “He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving, by the hand of his beloved Son.”

God is very good to us because of Jesus. If it wasn’t for Jesus, God couldn’t accept us because of our sins and shortcomings. But Jesus took care of all that on the cross.

Now God accepts us and bestows all His favor on us. Some think that God doesn’t have any favorites. But I believe all who receive Jesus are His favorites and God accepts us both now and always.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

God’s favor is bestowed on me today and my life is enriched because I am accepted in Jesus the Beloved.
