We Are Children Of Light

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“For you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.”

(Eph. 5:8 NASB)

We used to be like people living in a dark place. We couldn’t see the things that were tripping us up. We couldn’t see the path that led to peace and living success. But now, after Jesus has saved us, we are people who walk in the light because we belong to the Lord.

The Message Bible says: “You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around, Get on with it!”

Now we are as the moth that is attracted to the light. We can only be truly happy when we are conducting ourselves as children of light. So let your behavior be, that which is appropriate for the children of light. Let Jesus illuminate your steps so all you do and all you say will please Him and bring glory to God.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am a child of light in the Lord. I walk in the light and I do those things that are pleasing to the Lord.
