We Are Not Condemned

by Tim Davidson | Featured Devotions

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

(1 John 3:17)

Do you know God did not send Jesus into this world to be its judge or to condemn its people? God sent Jesus to save them, that’s what He did. God isn’t mad at people for the things they do. We are fallen and naturally do hurtful things. God already solved that problem. He sent Jesus.

The Message Bible says: “God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.”

There isn’t a sin problem anymore; Jesus has resolved it. All we have left is a decision problem. People that won’t believe on Jesus, or accept Him as their Lord, or reject His plan for eternal life are still lost. Not because they are too sinful to be saved, but because Jesus is the only sin cure, and without Him they are still unsaved.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Jesus didn’t come to condemn me but to save me and everyone else too.
