We Have An Inheritance

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.”

(Eph. 1:11)

God always carries out His plans. His plan was to appoint Jesus Christ to choose those who believe to be His own special people. We were marked out from the beginning for the purpose of obtaining this inheritance, God’s favor bestowed on us.

The Message Bible says: “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living.”

God chose us to be His people united with Jesus because of His own purpose, based on what He had decided from the establishment of time. This decision was already in the heart of God long before we did anything either good or bad. We can now take our place because that’s what God designed us for.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

It is God’s will and plan that I walk as a chosen vessel for God’s glory. I’ve been given an inheritance in Christ Jesus.
