“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.”
Jesus Christ sacrificed His life to set us free. It was the shedding of His blood that provided our redemption, which means that our sins are now removed and forgiven. Jesus did this because God loves us and wanted to provide the means by which we can enjoy a full relationship with Him.
The Message Bible says: “Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free!”
When the pressures of life come like waves and beat against us, we have salvation through His blood, the complete pardon of our trespasses. God can now forgive our failures and accept us without hesitation because of the blood of Jesus. In His eyes it isn’t a difficult thing to do because it is already a done deal.
God is not holding my sins against me today because I have redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ.
