When you have bad news for your boss, do you provide the reports promptly?

When you have bad news for your boss, do you provide the reports promptly?

The servants of a king “were badly frightened” and said, “We must tell the king what we have heard” (Jeremiah 36:16, NLT).

No one likes to tell the boss bad news, but withholding important bad news is far worse. Be direct, stick to the facts and don’t embellish.

Place all the relevant information on the table.

You can’t hide an elephant, so don’t even try. Any leader needs correct, current and complete information to be effective.

Your effective conveying of key information, good and bad, will improve the effectiveness of your boss.
